I was launched into this life like a bottle rocket. If I hadn't been set loose like a discount incendiary device I might have lived out my life in a small town waiting for death or dinner, whichever came first. If I hadn't left when I did, I never would have known the challenge of fending for myself with seven dollars in my pocket and a week to payday. If I had never known hunger I might not know to this day how to fully appreciate food. If I hadn't learned the difference between responsibility and culpability I might still be running away from both. If I was still running from responsibility I would never have listened to or trusted my own intuition. |
If I hadn't followed my intuition, I might not have learned that the people in my life can only love me as much as I love myself, so if I ever feel hurt I don't have to look any further than the mirror. I am grateful to Life for the opportunity to play in polarity, for the realisation that everything is choice and nothing is written in stone. As Krishna said to Prince Arjuna on the battlefield: "You're an eternal, divine being, they're eternal, divine beings, now dry your eyes and lop off a few heads." |
